Former England skipper Graeme Swann, who was commentating when the incident happened said the aggression got the better of Rana.

"If there is one way to upset your captain? This is it. Just stay calm. I told you earlier about the bit of aggression about him. He is good old-fashioned fast bowler, unfortunately, the aggression got the better of him, four overthrows of his own bowling," Swann said.

“I could see the captain livid. It's little things like this which releases the pressure,” former India head coach followed.

England In Strong Position Meanwhile, England find themselves in a good position after opting to bat first in the second ODI. The team got off to a great start as Phil Salt and Ben Duckett added 81 runs for the first wicket in 65 balls. Salt was out for 26 but Duckett scored a fiery 65. Joe Root and Harry Brook (31) also added a handy partnership before Brook was dismissed by Harshit Rana. At the time of writing, Jos Buttler and Joe Root were at the crease, with England's score over 200 in the 36th over.

Virat Kohli Returns To Playing XI Earlier, India made two changes to their playing XI. Virat Kohli returned to the playing XI in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Kohli missed the first game due to knee injury. India played Shreyas Iyer in place of Kohli and he justified his place with a blazing fifty. In the second ODI, the team stuck with Iyer and dropped Jaiswal. India also brought in Varun Chakravarthy in place of Kuldeep Yadav.

This was an expected move as India are keen to have Varun in the Champions Trophy squad. The spinner had a great run in the T20I series, making a case for the ICC event. India needed to try Varun in the ODI series and see how he fares in ODIs before making a call on him. Varun did start well and got the wicket of Phil Salt in his second over.
