2026 Business Olympics: ‘We are coming for you’ - Premier Care Hospital challenges GCB

Premier Care Hospital has thrown down the gauntlet to GCB Bank PLC ahead of the 2026 Business Olympics, declaring that it is coming prepared to challenge the bank for honours at this year’s competition.

The hospital, which is participating in the Business Olympics for the third time, says its experience from previous editions has given its team the confidence to target its biggest competitor.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday, September 11, 2026, Human Resources representative of Premier Care Hospital, Eunice Ampong Fosu, said the team had learned from its first appearance and returned stronger in its second year.

“This is our third time joining the Business Olympics. With our first time, we were not really up for the challenges. But with the second time, we came prepared, and we swept the majority of the trophies,” she said.

She said the hospital won several disciplines during its previous participation, including football, women’s swimming and arm wrestling, while finishing second in draughts.

“We won football, women’s swimming, arm wrestling and draughts; we came in second, and we held the ‘jama’ session down,” she added.

With GCB Bank having established itself as a strong competitor in the competition, Ms Ampong Fosu issued a direct challenge ahead of the 2026 event.

“For the third time, we know our competitor, and that is GCB; they should watch out. We are coming for them,” she said.

Marketing Manager at Premier Care Hospital, Mathew Gyedu, said the organisation’s continued participation was driven not only by the competitive aspect of the event but also by its health and wellness benefits.

“So far, it has been an awesome programme, and coming in the third time means that we have enjoyed all of it. Beyond the fun, the health aspect of the programme is very important,” he said.

Nurse Manager at the hospital, Richlove Serwaa Nkrumah, also encouraged more companies to participate, highlighting the networking and brand exposure opportunities created by the event.

“They should just join in and come and have the fun. Apart from the fun aspect and the competition, it also gives the companies the exposure for others to see you and your company and what you can offer,” she said.

The 2026 Business Olympics is scheduled for September 26 at the Eden Heights Sports Complex in Weija.

The competition will feature a wide range of disciplines, including seven-a-side football, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, swimming, arm wrestling, tug of war, sack race, lime and spoon, draughts, chess and Scrabble.

The event will also feature a CEO’s Challenge, allowing corporate leaders to compete alongside employees.
