The Mustangs moved to 2-1 on the season, while the Shockers improved to 2-1.Wichita State won the first doubles match of the day on court two, followed by a 6-3 victory for Sophie Llewellyn and Natalie Stasny on court three to even the score. Coming back from a 5-2 deficit, Caroline McGinley and Ellie Mireles forced a tiebreaker set against No. 24 Roselli/Wang of Wichita State. In the tiebreaker, the duo managed to grind out a 9-7 win to give SMU the doubles point and secure the duo's first ranked win of the season.Wichita State took the lead in singles with wins on courts five and one to go up 2-1. Natalie Stasny answered for the Mustangs with her third straight victory to open the spring season, defeating Anne Knuettel 7-5, 6-4.
