Women's Tennis Picks Up Key Conference Win at Radford

RADFORD, VA. – The Gardner-Webb 7-9, 3-2) women's tennis team notched a key Big South Conference win over Radford (4-10, 1-3) by the final of 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Radford Tennis Complex.

Milica Prokic and Natalie Crawford kicked things off with a dominant 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles before Arili Boshoff and Emilia Roslund secured the match's first point with a hard-fought 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles.

Crawford then earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Brooke Murphy at No. 4 singles to give the Runnin' Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Boshoff followed that up with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 against Natalia Reimer, putting GWU one point away from a conference win.

Roslund left no doubt as she controlled No. 1 singles by way of a straight-set 6-2, 6-3 win over Michaela Stephens, securing the coveted fourth point and match for Gardner-Webb. With the contest in hand, Alizeé Poulin also picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles for the fifth and final point for the 'Dawgs.

Gardner-Webb will host Charleston Southern on Wednesday, April 9 for its final home match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Webb Tennis Complex.
