Football: 11 stars to watch at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, from Lionel Messi to Kylian Mbappé

The stars will be out in force at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (14 June-13 July).

With 32 of the top men's football teams from around the world heading to the USA for the revamped global club tournament, there are bound to be mouth-watering matchups between the beautiful game's best players.

We could see a repeat of the headline duel from the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar, between eventual champion Lionel Messi and hat-trick hero Kylian Mbappé.

The pair will be in action for Inter Miami and Real Madrid, respectively, and they could meet in the semi-finals or even the final should both teams win their groups.

Ahead of the opening match on 14 June, here are a selection of the big names set to take to the pitch at the new-look FIFA Club World Cup (CWC).

The final squads, subject to club selection, will be confirmed on 10 June 2025.
