Manchester City and Manchester United are set to battle it out for a Champions League winner, according to stunning reports.

Man City and Man United are in the market for new talent ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Blues, however, are keen on adding to their squad ahead of this month's Club World Cup, with the club closing in on the signings of Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

As for the Red Devils, they have already recruited, having snapped up Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

And it appears both clubs have entered a transfer war for Champions League winner Gianluigi Donnarumma.

That's according to French outlet L’Equipe, who claim Donnarumma has 'evoked the possibility of a move' to the Premier League with his teammates while on international duty with Italy.

Man City and Man United have both expressed an interest in signing Donnarumma, who helped Paris Saint-Germain win their first Champions League title last season.

Rumours linking the 26-year-old with a move away from Paris comes after talks over a new deal have seemingly hit a wall.

Donnarumma is contracted until the end of next season and PSG's proposal includes a salary decrease, per the report.

However, it includes lucrative clauses based on games played, which is in line with new contracts offered since the start of Luis Campos' reign.

An agreement with the club and player has yet to be struck, suggesting they could part ways this summer.

Man City are on the hunt for a long-term successor to Ederson, who has been at the club since 2017.

And Man United are thought to be keen on replacing Andre Onana, who has failed to impress between the sticks since arriving from Inter Milan.

Donnarumma, meanwhile, graduated from AC Milan's youth academy before breaking into the first-team, where he made 251 appearances.

He ended his association with the Italian side in the summer of 2021 by joining PSG.

The Italian stopper has played 154 games in all competitions for the club.

Donnarumma, who starred in PSG's successful European venture, is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in world football.

A move to either Man City or Man United would be a statement signing.
