Joao Pedro uses just one word to describe Estevao Willian as a player

Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian have both impressed during their opening months as Chelsea players.

The Blues continued the theme of signing players from Brighton when they recruited forward Joao Pedro, 24, in the summer. He’s hit the ground running as well, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 12 appearances across all competitions.

Pedro, who’s been rated as one of the Premier League’s best signings, will be looking to continue his form after some rest during the international break.

As for Estevao Willian, 18, the South American wonderkid already looks at home after joining from Palmeiras. The right-winger netted a dramatic winning goal against Liverpool in Chelsea’s previous match before scoring twice for Brazil.

It is exciting to see three Brazilian stars in the Blues squad with Estevao, Pedro and Andrey Santos. Ahead of the 2026 World Cup next summer, the trio should be extra motivated to do well this season.

Joao Pedro uses one word to describe Estevao Willian

During a segment with TNT Sports Football on TikTok, Pedro was asked to describe several Chelsea stars using just one word. His response for club and international teammate Estevao Willian was quite telling.

With Cole Palmer injured for another six weeks, we’re looking towards the likes of Pedro and Estevao to do some heavy lifting in attack.

Of course, Pedro is a nailed-on starter in Enzo Maresca’s team. He’s leading the line as the centre-forward as well because of Liam Delap’s injury absence. Even though he’s been playing through some pain, we’re hopeful he will return rested and ready to fire in front of goal.

As for Estevao, he’s been eased into the side because he’s adapting to English football, but everything points to him being ready for more minutes and a bigger role. Not only does he provide a goal threat himself, but his vision and creativity are just what is needed to help cover for Palmer.

Estevao Willian is one of the top youngsters in the Premier League

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea talent Estevao is the joint-highest most valuable youngster in the Premier League, according to Transfermarkt.

The Blues paid £29m (BBC) to sign Estevao from Palmeiras, which is looking increasingly like a superb piece of business.

It’s certainly going to be a fascinating watch for supporters to see just how good the teenager can be. On Saturday, Maresca has got to throw him into the starting line-up for the trip to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
