Remember, Italy faced a defeat in last year’s BJK Cup final and Paolini shared at that point it would have been “impossible” for her to imagine her success this season. Speaking after winning the title, the 28-year-old said, “I think it’s an unbelievable year for Italian tennis and it’s so good for our sport in our country, This year was crazy, to finish it like that — it’s a dream.” She further opened up on what it means for the team to return with a trophy.

“At the beginning of the week I didn’t think we’d end the week with a trophy, it’s always tough this competition, with big matches… I’m glad that we were able to do it,” she shared. This victory, meanwhile, is not just special for Jasmine Paolini but also for the team’s captain Tathiana Garbin who lauded the relentless spirit of the WTA players, amid the praises pouring in from across the community.
