Carlton v Collingwood LIVE: Under-siege Voss seeks redemption against old enemy at the MCG

Football experts were critical of an incident during the third term when umpires temporarily held up play because a player was injured.

Carlton’s Zac Williams was doubled over with a sore leg, suffered during a kicking action when Collingwood’s Harry Perryman dived across his leg. It was not a head injury.

“What are we waiting for here?” Fox Footy commentator Jason Dunstall wondered out loud. “He’s not even on the ground. He’s standing doubled over, and we are stopping the game.”

Garry Lyon was equally bemused: “It’s getting beyond a joke. That’s beyond a joke. That’s just opened a mass exploitation if they are going to stop the game because a bloke is limping.”

Ironically, Williams was later subbed out of the game with a knee injury. He was probably the Blues best with 19 disposals and three goals.
