Predictions, and Orange Cap Race

Today, April 4th, 2026, is the first T20 cricket double header of the IPL 2026 season. For the entire month of April, Sundays and Saturdays will be doubleheaders. The second half of this doubleheader is between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals.

Unlike the other major sports leagues, like the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL, doubleheaders are much less common in the IPL.

Here are some match predictions, a pitch report, and the playing XI for this match.

T20 Cricket Pitch Report: Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals

CricTracker offers up a report on the pitch prior to the Saturday match.

“The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad isn’t an ideal ground for teams that prefer batting second,” writes the outlet. “As the trend was witnessed during the 2025 season of the tournament, seven out of the nine games played here were won by the teams defending their first-innings’ total.”

“Pacers are expected to generate assistance, while batters will get full value for their shots due to a quick spread in the outfield.”

With this in mind, look for the pace bowlers to get a boost. Additionally, whoever bats first will have a significant chance of winning.

Match Prediction: Vaibhav Suryavanshi Will Get Best Knock

The 15-year-old batting sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has been nothing short of spectacular since his IPL debut. He is a part of the opening partnership for the Rajasthan Royals. He will look to improve on his run totals with this match.

So far in the young 2026 IPL season, no batter has reached a high score of 100-runs. However, if anyone can do that at this stage of the tournament, it’s Suryavanshi.

In the very least, expect another half-century from the youngster. However, it is not out of the question for him to get this season’s first century.

IPL 2026 Orange Cap in Reach

For Suryavanshi, the 2026 IPL Orange Cap is definitely in reach.

Right now, Sameer Rizvi owns the Orange Cap with 160 runs to his credit. Prior to the beginning of the GT vs RR match, Suryavanshi had hit 61 runs.

So, in other words, if Suryavanshi knocks a century in the match, he will be the new Orange Cap leader. The 15-year-old only needs 80 runs to take over the lead from Rizvi.
