Jamie Carragher admits he's now MORE confident Mohamed Salah will stay put after the Liverpool star called him out on social media. The Reds forward has seen his contract enter its final six months and his future remains in major question. Salah has been more than willing to discuss his future and claimed this is his final season at Anfield after eight years with the club. The Egyptian has said he's "more out, than in" recently and claimed the Liverpool hierarchy haven't been forthcoming with an offer. Carragher has criticised Salah for speaking publicly about his contract and claimed both he and Trent Alexander-Arnold should look to emulate Virgil van Dijk's professionalism by not speaking publicly or making points about their respective situations with their social media posts.Salah duly responded to a video of the Sky Sports pundit discussing the trio on Monday night and said: "I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me".Carragher joked that he was obsessed with seeing Salah in the red of Liverpool and subsequently claimed the nature of the post gave him confidence that Salah would STAY.He said: "That Mo Salah tweet there, that does give me more confidence he'll stay. He's building bridges, using the winking emoji, he's trying to get on my good side isn't he."Salah was again in the goals as Liverpool were held by Manchester United on Sunday. The forward scored from the spot to remain at the top of the Premier League's scorers chart as he sets his sights on another Golden Boot - as well as the Premier League title. However he's continued to take swipes at the decision makers at Liverpool who, despite Salah still proving to be at the peak of his powers, are yet to meet the player's demands. Liverpool are understood in discussions with the forward's representatives, but Salah has continued to speak out.He said recently: "There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see. The thing in my head is that if this is the last six months, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was concerned or stressed about the contract?"Or do you just want to say I had an unbelievable season? That's what is in my head. If I ever feel distraction, I just remind myself I want to look back and say I had an unbelievable season. That's what I want to do."Join our new WhatsApp communityand receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
