Pakistan had little to celebrate in the first two T20Is as they were hammered by New Zealand. The team stepped on the park in the third T20I with one goal - a win, which is needed to keep the series alive. Pakistan needed a moment of brilliance to start the match as Haris Rauf gave them one when he took a blinder to dismiss Finn Allen for a duck. Shaheen Afridi bowled a full inswinger to Young who clipped it off his pads, however, Rauf at shot fine dived to his left to take a blinder.

Meanwhile, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field. The team has been let down by the batters so far in the series but bowling first will give them a chance to restrict New Zealand to a low score. A win today will keep the series alive for Pakistan.

Pakistan have had a poor run in international cricket in recent times, but they took a bold move to drop Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan from the T20I side. The T20 World Cup is lined up next year and the move could be an indication that Pakistan want fresh blood in the team for the T20 World Cup. However, the series against New Zealand hasn't gone as planned as the batting looked bleak against a good bowling unit. The team would hope they do well in the remaining matches else the PCB would be forced to fall back on Babar and Rizwan.
