Australian Open 2026 quarter-finals: Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Świątek continue Career Grand Slam bids - schedule and how to watch live

The quarter-final lineups are set for the 2026 Australian Open (18 January-1 February).

For the first time in the Open Era, the top six seeds in both the men’s singles and women’s singles draws have all made the tennis Grand Slam final eight.

In the men’s draw, all the big hitters remain in contention including world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, bidding to become the youngest man to complete the Career Grand Slam. The Spaniard has twice fallen at the quarter-final stage – will it be third time lucky?

Alcaraz also has the benefit of being on the other side of the draw of the remaining major winners: Olympic gold medallist Novak Djokovic and two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner, who are on course for a semi-final showdown in Melbourne.

Over on the women’s side, with 2025 champion Madison Keys out, the title is up for grabs in an ever-competitive field. Iga Świątek can conquer the Career Grand Slam at a tournament where she has twice reached the semi-finals, one trophy away from history.

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and top-ranked USA player Coco Gauff stand strong in the top half of the draw, both with tough quarter-final ties against Iva Jovic and Elena Rybakina respectively.
