Blayke Brailey has a suspected broken arm and has been ruled out,” Fox League’s Jake Duke reported.“This is a man who has missed one game of football in the past six seasons but he’ll be needing scans and I imagine at least a couple of weeks on the sideline.“He only just made his Origin debut but will be racing the clock (for Game II).”“This will have ramifications for New South Wales as well as the Sharks,” Dan Ginnane added.Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon confirmed that the initial reports seem to be correct.“Hopefully it’s a clean (break) and not displaced. That would minimise the time on the sideline,” Fitzgibbon said.“Still trying to work out whether he should’ve played him but he was delivering for us. He’s such a player, but he’s not going to be out forever.“Five minutes after Origin he texted and said he wanted to play and he wanted to play for this bloke (Cam McInnes’ 100th game for the club).“It’s an opportunity though for other guys. We have Pep (Hohepe Puru) and Bez (Jayden Berrell) who have been ready and have delivered for us.”One of the NRL’s most durable players, Brailey only recently missed his first game in 139 appearances due to a concussion. That streak was an NRL high among active players.Duke provided an additional update after Cronulla’s 28-22 win and gave an indication how long Brailey could be looking on the sideline.“I saw him after the game, he didn’t have a sling but he had his arm covered and didn’t shake hands with his right arm. I asked him how he was and he said he was ok,” Duke said.“The quickest return I can think of from a broken arm was Jarome Luai which was about three weeks, but they are generally long term.”
