Sky Sports are to revolutionise their Premier League coverage, with NFL Red Zone-style action, fan analysis - and two thirds of the BBC’s Match of the Day team.

The broadcaster today unveiled plans for the forthcoming campaign, in which it will screen 215 matches - up from 128 last season.

At a media launch, it emerged that Roy Keane has been secured for another season, despite the former Manchester United man earlier voicing his concerns about continuing in punditry.

Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman, who will share presenting duties of the BBC’s iconic Saturday night show from this weekend, will form part of Sky’s team with Chapman adding Premier League matches to his existing Carabao Cup schedule. Cates and Chapman were announced as replacements for outgoing Gary Lineker, along with Gabby Logan.

At times on Sundays this year, Sky will show four games at the same time via ‘Multiview’. Like the iconic American Football show, one presenting team will cover all four and will switch between games. Matches displaced by European competition will kick off at 2pm on Sunday.

And there will be a further new arrival in the shape of Fanalysis, where each Premier League club will be represented by one of their own supporters.

At the end of what the broadcaster is calling ‘supersized Super Sundays’, Jamie Carragher will front a reaction show called Extra Time.

Kasabian, the Leicester-based rock band, will provide the soundtrack.

Chief Sports Officer for Sky, Jonathan Licht, said: ‘This is a landmark season for Sky Sports and the Premier League. For the first time, we’ll bring fans over 215 live matches, including every 2pm kick-off on Super Sunday.

‘We’re introducing new innovations like Multiview, new programmes like Super Sunday: Extra Time, and a new look schedule for Sky Sports News.

‘From the moment the season kicks off, we’ll be helping fans stay across all the biggest stories and making sure they never miss a moment of the action.

‘To better serve the millions of fans who watch and engage with Premier League content across TV, social and digital platforms, Sky Sports News has a revamped schedule.’
