Cole Palmer issued ban as Chelsea star launches appeal to football chiefs

Cole Palmer has been banned from popular streaming platform Twitch after showcasing EAFC 27 gameplay before its official release date. The annual video game, formerly known as FIFA, is due to be released worldwide on September 25. Palmer, however, got his hands on an early copy and streamed it to thousands of viewers on Tuesday.

He was live on the streaming platform for over an hour as he opened Ultimate Team packs and jumped into a match. EA had intended to give fans a first glimpse of the gameplay on Tuesday evening, but Palmer jumped the gun and landed himself in hot water.

At one point, the official EAFC account joined his stream and commented: "Err, Cole, weren’t we going to do this a bit later? We’ll be live at 6pm UK!"

Palmer's account was banned shortly afterwards and his gaming content was removed from his channel, although various clips from the stream have been doing the rounds online.

He responded in an Instagram story as he pleaded with EA and Twitch to reinstate his account, saying: "I was only giving the people what they wanted… unban me pls."

During his stream, Palmer got the chance to look at his own Ultimate Team card for the first time, but the Chelsea playmaker was unhappy with his rating of 85.

He told viewers: "I need a word with EA. They took two ratings off me. I had one leg for ten months last season, what do you want me to do?"

Palmer also compared his card to that of Chelsea team-mate Morgan Rogers, who is one rating lower but with slightly better pace.

"76 pace? I don’t know how he’s got more pace than me but, EA sometimes, man, they’re a bit crazy," said Palmer.

He will be hoping to put that disappointment behind him ahead of Chelsea's next game, which sees them face Brentford away from home on Friday night.
