Genius Sports Announce Partnership with New OFC Pro League

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has formalised a strategic partnership with Genius Sports, designating the global data firm as the Official Integrity Partner for the newly launched OFC Pro League.

The announcement follows a historic opening weekend at Eden Park, Auckland, where professional club football in the Pacific officially entered a new era.

Commenting on the partnership, OFC general secretary, Franck Castillo, said: “Genius Sports are well-renowned in their field, being industry leaders in sports data and analytics.”

“Their support of the Pro League is helping to kick-start a new era in football in the Pacific region,” Castillo said.

Emphasising that maintaining fair play is a commercial necessity for the burgeoning league, OFC head of legal and compliance, Farah Mohammed, noted: “Integrity is fundamental to how we govern, operate, and deliver the game.”

“Upholding these principles is more important than ever as we embark on this exciting new chapter,” Mohammed said.

Under the terms of the agreement, Genius Sports will deploy a comprehensive integrity program to safeguard the league’s eight teams against betting-related corruption.

The suite of services includes 24/7 bet monitoring technology, a series of educational workshops for players and officials, and the implementation of a rigorous model of integrity rules. This strategy is designed to maintain the transparency of the 104-match season as it moves across its circuit hubs in Suva, Port Moresby, and Honiara.

A Partnership to Start the Season

On the opening matchday, Auckland FC secured a recognisable 3–0 “statement victory” over South Island United in the first-ever North v South derby, courtesy of goals from Oscar Faulds, Bailey Ferguson, and a penalty from Liam Gillion.

Earlier, Vanuatu United and Fiji’s Bula FC played out a dramatic 2–2 draw, featuring a late equaliser from William Cardona.

With the first round of the OFC Pro League successfully under way, the integration of Genius Sports’ technology provides the organisation with a “proven level of protection” typically reserved for major global competitions like the English Premier League and NFL.
