Exclusive: Leeds make Daniel Farke sack decision – ‘this is 1million per cent correct’

Leeds United are considering the future of Daniel Farke at Elland Road despite achieving promotion following a 6-0 win against Stoke City.

Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League was confirmed on 21 April, and they are currently on track to pip Burnley to the title on goal difference.

However, widespread reports have claimed the boss could lose his job amid concerns about his record in the top tier of English football with Norwich City.

Now, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who made 119 appearances for the club over six years and remains very well-connected at the club, has told Football Insider that Farke will be the Leeds United manager at the start of next season.

Club chairman Paraag Marathe is believed to be a fan of Farke and believes he could become one of the top coaches in Europe with financial backing this summer.

Daniel Farke to stay at Leeds United amid speculation

Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Leeds will stick with Farke next season and are prepared to back him heavily in the summer transfer window.

Robinson has now echoed this claim, insisting the manager will be provided with the players to give him the best opportunity of guiding them to Premier League survival.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that Leeds will back Farke in the transfer window and there is “no way” the manager will lose his job before the beginning of next season.

“One million per cent he will be in charge of Leeds next season,” he told Football Insider.

“If you succeed and get promoted, you get promoted because you’re capable of doing the job and you get the opportunity to prove yourself at that level.

“The chairman Paraag Marathe did an interview in 2023-24, he spoke about Daniel Farke potentially being one of Europe’s best coaches and not getting the opportunity.

“Farke has a 12 per cent win record in the Premier League, one of the worst ever.

“The quotes were that he didn’t have the right deck of cards, we will give him the right deck, the right hand.

“The chairman and the club are behind the manager. They’ve backed the manager, they trust the manager.

“He’s got a great relationship with the players, he’s got a great way of playing football, and Leeds believe he can succeed at the top level given the right support.

“There’s absolutely no way they’re sacking Daniel Farke.”

Kalvin Phillips update emerges at Elland Road

As preparations for their Premier League return begin, Leeds are aiming to be ambitious in the transfer window to strengthen Farke’s squad.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 22 April that Kalvin Phillips wants to return to Leeds and a deal is edging closer.

The 29-year-old Man City midfielder left Elland Road in 2022 but is believed to be open to a return following their promotion.

However, Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds won’t find it easy to re-sign Phillips given City’s lofty asking price and the midfielder’s high wage demands.
