Former Pakistan pace bowler Sarfraz Nawaz believes the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should have sacked the entire selection committee as they were “incapable of delivering” the desired results.

His comments come after Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were removed from their posts as selectors.

However, Sarfraz noted that all the selectors should have been held equally responsible as all of them selected the Pakistan teams that fell well short of expectations.

“The selection committee has worked collectively as was apparent during the pre-World Cup press conference with every member admitting that the team was constituted after consensus. Every member of the committee was responsible for the selection, so all should be sacked. The entire selection committee was incapable of delivering,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to take down Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage on a high, it was not enough to earn them a spot in the Super Eights.
