Dana White hints at security nightmare as UFC White House event moves forward for America’s 250th anniversary

Dana White, the president of UFC, has given fans a clear picture of how the UFC White House event will look. The special fights are part of the America250 celebrations and will take place in June 2026 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C. White explained that the octagon will stand right in front of the White House, while cameras will also capture the Washington Monument. Because of tight security, fewer than 5,000 people will be allowed to watch on the lawn, while another 85,000 fans can gather in a nearby park with big screens, concerts, and UFC fan events.

Dana White also spoke about security challenges at the White House. He said that during his last visit, he noticed snipers with .50 caliber rifles stationed on the roof. This, he explained, shows how big the safety setup already is. Dan White admitted: “Yes, the security is going to be a massive issue, because at the end of the day, the Secret Service’s job is to protect the president, and I don’t know how it’s going to work out as far as having people there live on the lawn of the White House.” Due to these concerns, UFC expects fewer than 5,000 live attendees on the South Lawn. But in the nearby park connected to the White House, close to 85,000 fans will be able to watch on huge screens, with concerts adding to the experience. The White House event, now set for June 2026 after being pushed back from July 4, will be one of the most unusual and historic UFC shows ever held.

Dana White gave details during an interview with Logan Paul on the IMPAULSIVE podcast and also on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. He said the fighting ring will be set up on the South Lawn, and fighters may even walk out from the Oval Office. A lighting arch and grid will be built above the octagon to make the shots look striking on television. Dana White explained: “When we shoot the fights, the whole backdrop will be the White House. UFC will bring UFC X, a fan festival, to Washington that week. He added that the plan is to “take over D.C. that week” with a mix of sports and entertainment.
