Man Utd wonderkid now a target for Aston Villa, he hasn't even made his debut yet

Manchester United have arguably the best academy set-up in England but now faces the prospect of losing one of the brightest sparks.

It would cause an uproar amongst Manchester United supporters if one of the most talented teenagers at Carrington was sold.

Recent years have seen Manchester City and Chelsea make an incredible amount of money by selling top academy talents.

United have done the same with Anthony Elanga and James Garner among the most notable to depart for Premier League football where they have shone.

However, to sell a player widely perceived to be a future starter for United would be a sure way for Ineos to turn fans against them. Now, rumours are suggesting one 17-year-old has emerged as a serious target for league rivals Aston Villa.

Aston Villa now showing interest in Harry Amass

Harry Amass has been in and around the Manchester United first-team for the entire season in training and match-day squads.

The left-back has not yet made his debut for United despite his clear talent as displayed during pre-season when he featured prominently.

If this doesn’t change Aston Villa could be waiting in the wings.

TEAMtalk has reported that Amass now finds himself the target of the Champions League side.

It is claimed that Villa are a long-term admirer of Amass – having been interested before his move to United – and now Unai Emery’s side are keeping tabs once more as the talented defender awaits his chance.

Amass is contracted until 2027 and it is added that United would not welcome any interest in the teenager – but Villa will be waiting if he becomes available.

Ruben Amorim could kill Aston Villa’s interest with one decision vs Ipswich

Under no circumstances should United be entertaining Villa’s interest in Amass, and Ruben Amorim can make his stance on the teenager clear immediately.

Amass is viewed as being a special talent within United, and so it is important he is given the chance to prove he is ready for senior football.

The newly appointed United head coach will be mulling over his options of players ahead of game one against Ipswich Town next Sunday.

With left-back options still not 100% – Tyrell Malacia only has 45 minutes played in 17 months and Luke Shaw with no minutes this season – Amass’ chance could be upon him.

Amorim needs a left-back and has already shown in his career that he trusts the youth. So Amass could be the solution and it is a move that would get fans on side immediately.
