Red Devils legend opens up about his contract salary and bonuses which was double the amount of former teammateRoy Keane has revealed how much he earned during his time at Manchester United, as he allowed former team-mate Gary Neville to read out details of his contract on the latest edition of Stick To Football on The Overlap.Keane moved to United from Nottingham Forest in 1993 for what was then a British record transfer fee of £3.75 million, with his status as the rising star of the Premier League securing the Irishman a big initial signing-on fee and huge rewards as he went on to become United captain.Now, a brutally honest Keane has opened up on his wages at United, with Neville holding up his contract on their YouTube show and announcing how much he was earning."There is a contract for £2.75m-a-year in 2000 to 2003,” said Neville. “Signing on fee for £1m. Wow. So you got £3.75m-a-year.”“Then you’ve renewed and gone to £3.5m-per-annum in 2003-2005. Whatever they offered me."Whatever they offered me, I just said 'That's fine, I'm not bothered'. I did question it because someone told me they had been offered £250,00 and I said I should be on the same as then."Keane brought some of his old Nottingham Forest, United and Ireland jerseys into the studio as he looked back over his career.He became emotional when he showed a photograph of his parents taken after one of United’s Cup final wins at Wembley, with fellow Overlap contributor and former Arsenal striker Ian Wright tapping him on his shoulder to offer his show his support.
