Goncalo Ramos transfer update as Newcastle United timeline emerges

Newcastle United are busy preparing for their return to Premier League action while also dealing with plenty of ongoing transfer speculation.

United have just over two weeks to complete their transfer business for the summer as they prepare for another year back in the Champions League. Three signings have already been confirmed by Newcastle this summer, with Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale and Malick Thiaw all moving to St James' Park.

Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsay is also thought to be moving closer to signing for Newcastle before the deadline.

Goncalo Ramos wanted

Newcastle have once again been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos.

The Daily Mail have reported that the Magpies are showing an interest in signing the Portugal international as they look to bring a new striker to the club.

PSG would reportedly be open to selling Ramos this summer, although it's unclear if the player would also be keen on a move to St James' Park.

Chronicle Live says: Ramos has been linked with Newcastle in the past, but appeared to dismiss the speculation earlier this week when confirming his plans to remain at PSG.

Ramos is clearly a talented player but there is a long way to go before the striker could go on to put pen to paper on a contract with Newcastle.

Yoane Wissa claim

Newcastle have been handed an update regarding the future of Brentford star Yoane Wissa.

TBR Football have claimed that Newcastle expect to have a deal in place to sign Wissa by close of play on Saturday. This, the report claims, will be determined by Brentford completing a move for Bournemouth forward Dango Ouattara who is viewed as Wissa's replacement.

Chronicle Live says: Wissa has been linked with signing for Newcastle for several weeks, and now it seems like a deal may finally be moving closer to being completed. Whether a deal is agreed within the reported timeframe, though, remains to be seen.
