An exciting Indian cricket team will look to establish age-group supremacy at the ICC Men’s U19 ODI World Cup 2026, which runs from January 15 to February 6 across Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Ayush Mhatre will lead the 15-member under-19 Indian squad with Vihaan Malhotra acting as vice-captain. Teenage prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi is also in the mix.

All matches of the U19 World Cup 2026 will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast in India.

The 2026 U19 World Cup is the 16th edition of the 50-over age-group cricket tournament and features 16 teams.

As per the U19 World Cup 2026 format, the 16 teams have been divided into four groups. After single-legged round robin group games, the top three sides from each pool advance to the Super Six.

The 12 teams will be further divided into two groups in the Super Six stage and after another round of matches, the top two from each Super Six group will make the sem-finals. The final is scheduled in Harare on February 6.

India have been drawn in Group A alongside New Zealand, Bangladesh and the USA, and will play all their group matches in Bulawayo.

India open their campaign against the USA at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on the opening day of the tournament.

India, five-time champions (2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022), are the most successful team in U19 World Cup history. They were also runners-up in 2006, 2016, 2020 and 2024.

Australia, the reigning champions after beating India in the 2024 final, have four titles to their name.

A potential India vs Pakistan clash could transpire in the U19 World Cup 2026, but only if both teams make the semis. The rivals recently clashed in the age-group Asia Cup final, which Pakistan won.

The Indian team had mixed fortunes in the warm-up games leading up to the main tournament. After dominating Scotland thanks to a fiery Vaibhav Suryavanshi knock in the first game, they suffered a narrow defeat to England in the second.
