Kun Khalifat FC will host league leaders Nasarawa United on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri in a crucial Nigeria Premier Football League encounter, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Owerri-based side, struggling in their maiden top-flight season, are determined to end a three-match winless run and claim maximum points against the high-flying Lafia Boys.

Forward Lekan Gabriel has expressed confidence in his team ahead of the fixture, stressing the squad’s focus and readiness.

“We are going to give it our all, and we promise that we will get the result. The maximum points will be ours,” Gabriel said while speaking to the club’s media team.

Khalifat enter the clash in 18th position on the table with 12 points from 12 matches.

The side has failed to win in their last three league games, conceding at least one goal in each of the past four matches.

Despite the recent struggles, the team will be encouraged by victories over Bayelsa United and Enyimba in October.

Nasarawa United, meanwhile, arrive in Owerri sitting top of the NPFL with 23 points from 12 games.

The Solid Miners have alternated wins, draws and losses in recent matches, including a 2–1 victory over defending champions Remo Stars and a 1–1 draw with Kwara United.

They have conceded goals in each of their last five fixtures, leaving an opening that Kun Khalifat will hope to exploit.

This will be the first league meeting between the two sides. Kun Khalifat will rely on Gabriel and the rest of their squad to deliver a disciplined performance, while Nasarawa United will aim to maintain their shaky position at the summit with another positive result.

Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm, with Abdulrasheed Jimoh officiating the match, assisted by Imuetinyan Ikpowonsa and Victor Akokoba, and Felagha Johnbull acting as fourth official.
