NZ Vs SL, 2nd ODI: Maheesh Theekshana scripts history during the New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, as the right-arm off-spinner becomes the 7th Sri Lankan bowler to scalp a hat-trick in ODIs.

He now joins the likes of Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, Dilshan Madushanka, Thisara Perera, Farvez Maharoof, and Wanindu Hasaranga to achieve the feat.

Maheesh Theekshana's scalps included Mitchell Santner, Nathan Smith, and Matt Henry, as New Zealand's batting order collapsed after making a terrific start to their innings.

Rachin Ravindra Reflects On His Well-Made 79 Vs SL

New Zealand finished their innings at 255/9 in a rain-affected match, as Rachin Ravindra top-socred for the side with a well-made 79 off 63 deliveries, which included 9 fours and 1 six.

Here's what the player said during mid-innings break:

"I love playing ODI cricket because you can play cricketing shots and that is something I apply myself. I was lucky to bat on a beautiful wicket. Chapman batted really well and the way he rotated the strike and took on the bowlers as well. The conversation was to react to what was in front of us and luckily enough it was a pitch where we could do that," said Rachin Ravindra.

"If they offered us lengths we would take it or if they bowl good bowls then we would take ones. The partnership was good adding around 100 runs and Sri Lanka came back nicely in the middle there. Took some wickets and restricted us a little bit but we'd take that total if they asked us at the start," said the Kiwi all-rounder.

"I think we should hold our lengths for a long period of time and we know that our bowlers do that well if they can extract a bit of bounce. We saw the ball nibbled around. The ball that got Young was a seed so hopefully it will be similar. Looking to take some wickets and make their job harder," he added.
