Azam Khan is among the Pakistani players plying his trade in the Caribbean Premier League ( CPL ) 2024. The right-handed batsman is playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors . He did not make a positive start to his campaign and departed for 9 runs in the game against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

The manner in which Azam was dismissed left everyone worried. He failed to play a pull shot and the ball hit him on his neck. The ball then hit the stumps. Azam tried to save himself but was dismissed for 9.

The batsman removed his helmet and held his neck after getting out. The fielding team gathered around and one of the players was spotted asking for the physio to come out to check the player.

Talking of the game, Guyana chased down the target of 169 on the final delivery of the chase. The Imran Tahir-led side needed 16 runs in the final over. Dwaine Pretorius did the job and hit 18 runs off Mohammad Amir. He finished the chase with a six on the final delivery.

With one win, Guyana Amazon Warriors sit at the second spot in the points table. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have lost both their matches and are reeling at the last spot. Guyana will next face St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on September 4. Falcons will be in action against Barbados Royals on Sunday (September 1).

CPL 2024 fixtures

The Caribbean Premier League kicked off on August 29. The eliminator will be held on October 1 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The two Qualifiers will be played on October 2 and 4 in Guyana. The final of the tournament will also be played at the same venue on October 6.

Dwayne Bravo has made a mega announcement at the start of the tournament and said that he will retire after the ongoing edition of the T20 league.
