Ruben Amorim has paid tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of his Manchester United unveiling, saying the legendary Scot is "above everyone else" at the club. The highly-rated Portuguese coach, 39, starts his new role with the Red Devils on Monday and will be tasked with turning their fortunes around. It was Ferguson who established United as the most dominant team in England prior to his retirement in 2013.Amorim becomes the fifth permanent manager to take the helm since Ferguson stood down and arrives with an impressive body of work from his time at Sporting Lisbon. Hopes are high at Old Trafford ahead of his arrival, despite a disappointing start to the new season under Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last month. After signing off in style with a win in his final match with Sporting Lisbon, Amorim was met with a series of questions about his new club. One of the more intriguing ones was asked by a Portuguese journalist, who referenced some of the club's recent greats.Amorim was asked who he would like to have dinner with out of Ferguson, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, and Rio Ferdinand - and he took the opportunity to laud the club's greatest ever manager, who remains a hugely influential figure at Old Trafford.“Alex Ferguson was someone very special, he’s above everyone else at that club,” he said. “But it would be difficult to choose anyone. I will try to have lunch and dinner with all of them.”While Amorim will be prevented from taking training on Monday due to a work visa issue, he is still expected in Manchester. His first game at the helm will be after the international break, when United travel to Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town.Join the debate! Do you think Amorim will be a success at Man Utd?
