It's been a week to remember for Arsenal off the back of their statement win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The Gunners eased to a 2-0 win over the French giants courtesy of goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz to kickstart their European campaign following a goalless draw with Atalanta last month.

And Mikel Arteta's side head into the international break knowing that a win against struggling Southampton would guarantee they will at least match Manchester City's point tally going into the next round of fixtures. Saka among 'world's best'

Former England coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink reckons that Bukayo Saka deserves to be recognised as one of the best players in the world.

Hasselbaink, who has worked with Saka during his spell on Gareth Southgate's England coaching staff, feels that the Arsenal star is in a league of his own when it comes to wide forwards in the modern game.

And Hasselbaink has also lauded Saka's mentality and character off the back of another fine showing for Arsenal in midweek.

Henry admits to Saka doubts

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has admitted that he wasn't totally sure that Bukayo Saka would become the superstar he is today after watching him in the academy.

Saka is the latest Hale End graduate to blossom in North London and has become a hugely influential figure for the Gunners since breaking into the first-team picture as a teenager years ago.

Speaking on CBS Sports, the Frenchman said: "I saw him at the academy and I didn’t think he would be that good, I’ll be honest with you. But when you work, you have that work ethic, you have a good family behind you, cause I know the family, he is clever, he works well.

"I really saw a player reaching his level, because right now he is at a level, hard to arrive. He has been there for almost three years if I am being honest."

Arteta told ex-star is 'proving him wrong'

Peter Schmeichel has praised Emiliano Martinez for proving Arsenal wrong after they sold the goalkeeper.

The Argentina international was on the books at The Emirates for years without establishing himself before joining Aston Villa in a £20million deal.

Martinez has established himself as one of the top goalkeeper's in the world since leaving Arsenal - and Schmeichel feels that the shot-stopper has proved Arteta and co made a mistake in letting him leave the club.
