PCB Cancels Kit Launch as Uncertainty Clouds Pakistan's Participation in T20 World Cup

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called off the planned unveiling of Pakistan’s official kit for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with sources linking the move to the growing uncertainty over whether Pakistan will take part in the tournament.

Sources confirmed that the PCB had arranged to reveal the new jersey during the Pakistan vs Australia series in Lahore. The plan was to hold the kit launch after the toss of the second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium.

However, the ceremony has now been postponed, with insiders citing “unavoidable circumstances” behind the decision.

The delay comes as questions continue to swirl around Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on February 7 across India and Sri Lanka.

Sources say the PCB is expected to take a final call on Monday, following consultations at the highest level. Until that decision is made, the board appears unwilling to go ahead with a high-profile kit reveal that would typically be part of the World Cup build-up.

As per the current tournament schedule, Pakistan are set to begin their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on February 7. Pakistan have been placed in Group A, alongside India, the USA, and Namibia.
