Emma Raducanu has set up a mouth-watering Roland-Garros tie with defending champion Iga Swiatek in the second round of the 2025 French Open.

It will be a battle of Grand Slam champions in the French capital after both tennis players made it through the opening round of the WTA main draw on Monday (26 May).

Raducanu fought through a three-set marathon, securing a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Wang Xinyu from the People's Republic of China, while Swiatek cruised past Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova 6-3 6-3.

Raducanu is aiming for a first title since her US Open triumph in 2021 with Poland's former world number one Swiatek continuing her hunt for a fourth straight Roland-Garros crown.
