I really thought, ‘Yeah, good on you, man’, because social media’s a really tough place, a hard place.MORE CHELSEA STORIES“As we know, it’s maybe not the best of place at times when you’re going through hard times, but I thought for him to come out and say what he did… I thought his interview was brilliant.”Palmer’s penalty against Liverpool was his 15th goal in the top flight this season, so it has still been a good campaign for the 23-year-old.For it to finish on a positive note, though, Chelsea must qualify for the Champions League. May will be a beautiful month for Chelsea if they manage to do that and win the Conference League, with Maresca’s men 90 minutes away from the final. They have already beaten Djurgarden 4-1 in the first leg of their semi-final tie against the Swedish outfit.Photo by Eddie Keogh/Getty ImagesWhat Cole Palmer said after Liverpool winOn social media, Palmer told Sky Sports after his side’s triumph over Liverpool: “Social media nowadays is full of idiots, the trolls and whatever. I don’t pay any attention to that. To score today, I’m happy, but I’ve got to keep improving and try to reach new levels.“If you’re getting chances and not scoring… you’re letting your team down at the end of the day. I feel like I’m mentally strong anyway so whatever people say, it doesn’t bother me. I’ve had it all the time growing up.”After the second leg of their semi-final tie against Djurgarden in the Conference League, Palmer and Chelsea take on Newcastle.Beat them, and you would fancy Maresca’s side to finish in the top five, though they still have to play Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. But with Palmer looking like he is back to his best again, there is no reason why they also cannot get victories against those two teams.
