Michael Carrick is in the dugout permanently and three transfers were completed before Saturday's friendly against Wrexham, while there could well be more to come.Carrick has bolstered his midfield after the departure of Casemiro, with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans joining for more than £80million combined. The Brazil international had looked to be on the verge of a £38million Old Trafford move only for the deal to collapse.After detecting an issue during the player's medical, United appeared to go cold on the deal as initially negotiated. They haven't been able to negotiate new terms and now Ederson has committed his future to Atalanta."After an initial four-year spell in the Nerazzurri colours, marked by outstanding results and mutual satisfaction, the bond between Ederson Jose dos Santos Lourenco da Silva and Atalanta BC has grown even stronger," a club statement read. "Since his first season with the club, the 2022/23 campaign, Ederson has established himself as one of the team’s technical leaders, becoming a fan favourite thanks to his quality, determination and competitive spirit."Fredricson set for permanent exitUnited centre-back Tyler Fredricson is closing in on a move away from the club, according to BBC Sport. The 21-year-old defender was left out of the squad to face Wrexham on Saturday as he prepares to leave.Celtic is thought to be a potential destination after the Scottish club saw a January move fall through. A move to mainland Europe could also be an option if he doesn't end up moving north of the border.Fredricson, an England youth international, made his United debut under Ruben Amorim towards the end of the 2024/25 season. He has made just four senior appearances after coming through the academy, the most recent of those against Newcastle on Boxing Day.
