Trinity Rodman is in the house as her boyfriend Ben Shelton faces Frances Tiafoe in the US Open semifinal on Friday, Sept. 11.

The Washington Spirit and U.S. women's national team star has attended several of Shelton's matches at the tournament, including an epic quarterfinal win over Carlos Alcaraz in a match that ended after 3:30 a.m ET.

Shelton advanced to the semifinal against fellow American Tiafoe, with the winner taking on No. 1 Alexander Zverev in the men's singles final on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Both players are chasing their first Grand Slam title. Shelton leads Tiafoe in head-to-head matches 3-1, with Shelton winning their most recent match one year ago in Washington, D.C., also on a hardcourt. Tiafoe won their lone prior meeting at the US Open, a third-round match in 2024.

Should Shelton advance to the final, Rodman likely would not be able to attend due to the Spirit having a home match scheduled for one hour before the US Open final.

Shelton and Rodman went public with their relationship in March 2025, instantly becoming one of American sports' power couples. Rodman has attended numerous matches to support Shelton, while the tennis star has returned the favor several times by attending USWNT and Spirit games.

Though their schedules make it difficult to spend long stretches of time together, Rodman said that dating a fellow pro athlete helps put them on the same page.

"It's definitely hard … it's like, 'Oh my gosh, we don't get to see each other at all,'" Rodman told USA TODAY Sports. "We are so good at understanding each other's schedules and the way we operate and times when we need advice, times when we don't. So going through that together has been amazing."

Rodman added, "I think we're always so good at supporting each other. And yeah, just being individuals as well, I think has been huge for us of not getting so blended together."
