'Very frustrating, very disappointed'

Manchester United defender Hanna Lundkvist, speaking to BBC Sport: "Very frustrating. It is hard to break them down, they do a good job defending their box. I think we didn't come out to the level we should today. Obviously very disappointed to not get the three points."

On what they should have done differently: "We can see we had some good chances in the first half, they had some good saves. To just keep doing those kind of movements, make it a bit harder for them and not let them just lie in their block and mark us easily, I think that would have been good. And to get first to the ball in the box and get it into the net."

On managing the quantity of games: "We want to play those games so it is not an excuse or something to complain about. We all enjoy it. We know we have good physical players and a lot of energy in the squad so that's not an excuse for us to manage that load."

'We almost wanted to score that perfect goal'

More from Manchester United manager Marc Skinner, speaking to BBC Sport, on playing more direct: "To be honest, it was to get into the final third to deliver. At half-time, we told we didn't do it anywhere near enough. Putting the ball into the box is where all the chances came from. We almost wanted this perfect goal on this pitch and it was a challenge for both the teams to play that style of football."

On United's prospects in the final weeks: "We go again against Everton. We don't have space or time to think. We have to be ready to go again. We need to be back into the vein of form where we take the points. That's the nature of the performance."

'It's an important point'

West Ham manager Rita Guarino: "Very happy because the players understood the plan on what we want to be. I saw the spirit in front of our fans. It's an important point.

"We conceded easy goals in the past. It was really important against a team like Manchester United with the quality that they have that we needed to defend well. We were prepared for that and the girls did very well.

"The way we transition [with Viviane Asseyi and Shakira Martinez] is one of our qualities Everybody knows this."

'We were the better team'

Manchester United manager Marc Skinner, speaking to BBC Sport: "I thought we were the better team and had high territory. I genuinely think there was a stonewall penalty, I think if we have VAR in this league it does affect.

"That aside, I think West Ham defended really well and resolutely on a difficult pitch for both teams to play any style of football. West Ham are used to it and defended well. Beating a block on a bobbly pitch is difficult."

On whether they needed to be more ruthless: "I'm sure there are moments where we could have been more ruthless but I wanted us to put West Ham on the back foot a little bit more. I felt we needed more crosses and we didn't. There were moments we could have and we turned it down and kept trying to play short - you just waste time on this pitch.

"As soon as they concede, they have to change their game and when they are 0-0 it is comfortable for them, especially on this pitch. When you come to this ground, you have to play slightly different to the way we want to play."

"Now we have to turn our attention to playing against Everton without emotion."

'Really important point'

West Ham's Eva Nystrom, speaking to BBC Three: "I feel really good, a really important point for us. We were fighting for the whole 90+ minutes. I'm really happy for the team.

On the cohesion of West Ham's back line: "It's nice to play with them and I enjoy playing with them."

On playing Arsenal at the weekend: "We saw that we can fight the whole 90 minutes and we were defending really good so we just need to keep going on that."

'Potter more than deserves it'

FT: Chelsea 2-1 Brighton

Chelsea midfielder Keira Walsh speaking to Sky Sports: "In the first half, we were a lot more in control and we had a lot of possession. But in the second half, Brighton were chasing and threw a lot at us. But we stood up to that and we made a lot of changes and the girls who came on made an impact as well,. We are really happy with the result.

On Lexi Potter who scored the winner: "I will be honest I am not surprised. I see her in training every day. She has waited a long time for this but it is more than deserves it. She is an incredible player and has got a bright future ahead of her."

'Proud of reaction in second half'

FT: Chelsea 2-1 Brighton

Chelsea boss Dario Vidosic speaking to Sky Sports: "In the first half, we could have done better, were a little hesitant and at times we were waiting for someone else to find solution.

"We spoke about wanting to be brave and I was much happier in the second half. We controlled the game a lot more. We were a little rushed, perhaps chasing an equaliser. On another day, we maybe find an equaliser.

"I haven't had the chance to talk to them yet. I was proud of their reaction in the second half and it is something to build on. We will dust ourselves off, recover and be ready to go again on Sunday."

'Great result and good performance'

FT: Chelsea 2-1 Brighton

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor speaking to Sky Sports: "Great result and a good performance from the team. At the closing stages of the game, I would have liked my team to keep a little bit more of the ball. But we stayed strong and that was enough.

"We take game by game. The most important for us is to make sure we win every one of those games. The result is prefect today. And it's good for the recovery too when you win. We go again on Saturday."

On fielding Chelsea's youngest WSL starting line-up since 2013: "Really pleased. To play with a young team is quite pleasant. I like to develop young players. It also shows that youngsters can contribute to Chelsea results and perform."

On Lexi Potter: "Great for her. She deserves it and works so hard. She's got great mentality too. It will give her great confidence going into the next games."

'Really special but a good win for the team'

Chelsea goalscorer Lexi Potter speaking to Sky Sports: "I was really excited when I was told [I was going to start]. It's been a long time but I felt like I have really worked hard and I was really happy when I got the news."

On her first Chelsea goal: "I have been at the club for a long time and to score my first goal was really happy. It was a really good performance from the girls. Really special but a good win for the team. My mum was here."
