Zazai was last seen in action three months back, during Afghanistan’s T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Zazai was not a part of the Afghan team that participated in the Champions Trophy. He made his international debut in 2016 in an ODI against UAE and has played 16 ODIs and 45 T20Is since then.

In 16 ODIs and 45 T20Is, Zazai has scored 361 and 1160 runs with one hundred and five fifty-plus scores.

Zazai is second in the list of players with the highest individual scores in T20Is when he smacked 162 runs off just 62 deliveries, laced with 11 boundaries and as many sixes against Ireland in Dehradun.

In the 2018 Afghanistan Premier League, Zazai smacked six sixes in an over off left-arm spinner Abdullah Mazari while playing for the Kabul Zwanan in their game against the Balkh Legends in Sharjah.

Zazai scored 62 runs off just 17 deliveries in that match at a stunning strike rate of 364.7. His last big knock came in the Abu Dhabi T10 when he and compatriot Mohammad Shahzad chased down a paltry 108-run target with an unbeaten opening partnership in just eight overs for the Bangla Tigers.

After making his T20I debut in 2016, Zazai made his List A debut for the Amo Region in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament in August 2017, but he could score just 54 runs in four matches at a dismal average of 13.5.

In October of that year, Zazai made his first-class debut for the Band-e-Amir Region in the Alokozay Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day Tournament.
