– James Madison women's tennis controlled the pace throughout, cruising through doubles play and registering three straight-set singles triumphs to upend #60 South Alabama, 4-1, on Sunday morning at Hillside Courts.andboth went 2-0 on the day, capturing wins in both doubles and singles, whilecontributed the fastest singles victory of the match.With the win, the Dukes (6-10, 4-2 Sun Belt) moved to 3-1 all-time against the Jaguars (10-5, 3-3 Sun Belt).In doubles play, the team of Oliveira andtook down USA's Delien Kleinhans and Rio Maeda, 6-3, on court one for the doubles advantage. Shortly after, the tandem of Kraleva andbroke the serve of Manal Ennaciri and Lara van der Merwe and held their own serve to win 6-4 on court two, clinching the doubles point.Moulin andwere all knotted at 4-4 on a deuce point with Kenza Elakili and Jade Marie on court three when it went unfinished.The Dukes kept the momentum into singles, winning first sets on four of six courts.Moulin capped off her strong weekend conceding just one game on court six en route to a 6-0, 6-1 victory against van der Merwe. The clinching point came on court three, as Oliveira slid past Ennaciri in a close bout, earning a late break to win the match, 6-4, 6-4.Williams was also within a game of earning the win on court four, leading Marie 6-4, 5-4.
