Liverpool star Mohamed Salah only further cemented his status as one of English football's greatest imports after moving up to fourth on the list of Premier League all-time goalscorers. The 33-year-old scored a last-gasp winner from the penalty spot as the Reds snatched a late 1-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on September 14. The Egyptian was asked to step up to the spot when Hannibal Mejbri's outstretched arm blocked Jeremie Frimpong's cross and Salah dispatched the spot-kick with total confidence and power. It means Arne Slot's men continue to top the Premier League table and look set to launch a serious defence of their crown. But for Salah, there was another reason to celebrate beyond the three points.Salah, who penned a new two-year contract to extend his stay with the Anfield outfit in May, has moved ahead of Manchester United icon Andy Cole onto 188 goals and could feasibly catch Wayne Rooney in third. The Red Devils forward, now retired, is only 20 goals ahead on 208, with Harry Kane five ahead on 213. The top-flight's all-time record goalscorer Alan Shearer may well be out of reach for Salah, as he requires another 72 goals just to equal the ex-England striker's tally. But given his proclivity to find the net, nothing can be ruled out - especially if Salah remains on Merseyside beyond his contract length of June 2027.Salah is already viewed as one of the greatest players to grace the Premier League, having signed from AS Roma in 2017 for €42million. That has proved to be money well spent as Salah has put his torrid spell at Chelsea behind him to surpass goal machines such as Thierry Henry, Sergio Agüero and fellow Liverpool hero Robbie Fowler on his way to breaking into the top four. The Egyptian also holds the record as Liverpool's record goalscorer in the Premier League, in addition to accumulating the most goals and assists in a 38-game Premier League season, most consecutive home games scored in for Liverpool, and the most Premier League goals against Manchester United for any player. Even with the arrivals of big-money signings Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak to strengthen Liverpool's attack, Salah is finding ways to maintain his reputation as a match winner.
