Aston Villa without five players for Leicester City clash after three new injury setbacks

Aston Villa will be without a quintet of players for their upcoming Premier League encounter with Leicester City. Diego Carlos and Jaden Philogene are set to miss the match due to minor injuries, while Pau Torres is out for approximately two months following a metatarsal break.

Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers face suspensions but are expected back for Villa's next league game against Everton. Duran received a red card during the Boxing Day clash with Newcastle United, which saw Villa defeated 3-0.

Despite an appeal against the striker's dismissal for violent conduct, it was not successful.

Earlier in the week, Duran faced further repercussions as he was charged by the Football Association with improper conduct for his reaction to the sending off. An FA spokesperson stated: "It's alleged that the Aston Villa forward acted in an improper manner in the 32nd minute of the fixture, after being sent off."

Rogers earned his fifth yellow card of the season within the first 19 matches, triggering a one-match suspension, reports Birmingham Live.

Villa have the opportunity to secure their first league double over Leicester since 2004 this Saturday, having previously triumphed 2-1 at the King Power Stadium in August.

City have enjoyed a successful run at Villa Park, winning three of their last four Premier League matches there, following an initial run of just two victories in their first 10 visits.
