Arsenal transfer target Christos Tzolis scored the perfect goal to answer his doubters amid talks over North London switch

Arsenal transfer target Christos Tzolis are garnered plenty of discussion with the fan base. The Greek international is of interest to the Gunners and football.london understands that talks over a potential £35million move have been discussed.

However, the player himself has divided supporters, with his ‘unknown factor’ key in determining where many stand. Leandro Trossard looks set to leave North London after Besiktas agreed a €20million (£17million) move for the Belgian international, with talks over personal terms taking place after the winger’s exit from the World Cup.

Tzolis is seen as the replacement for Trossard if and when he departs. The former Norwich City man has experience in England, and many have likened the move to that of Arsenal’s signing of Trossard himself in 2023, when he signed from Brighton.

Tzolis, however, has predominantly gained notoriety in Belgium with Club Brugge, where last season he scored 22 goals and got 29 assists. A huge haul, but with the vast majority coming in the Belgian top flight, it has been suggested that there will be a serious challenge in translating such numbers to the Premier League.

However, what went viral on Saturday was his contribution during Club Brugge’s pre-season. In a clash with Feyenoord ahead of the new season, Tzolis came on at half-time and scored after just seven minutes.

Club Brugge would go on to lose the game 3-1. Of Arsenal relevance, former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie’s son, Shaqueel, would score the equaliser.

However, Tzolis had caught the headlines again and the attention. If his move to the Premier League champions is confirmed, then the Greek winger will hope to replicate such goals in the red and white of Arsenal.
