The Indian cricket team secured a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 Super Six Group 1 match at Bayuemas Oval on Sunday.With the win, India moved on top of their Super Six group on net run rate and qualified for the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 semi-finals with a game in hand. India will play Scotland in their final Super Six cricket match on Tuesday.After winning the toss and opting to bowl, India restricted Bangladesh to a modest 64/8 in 20 overs. Vaishnavi Sharma starred with the ball, claiming 3/15 in her four overs. Bangladesh captain Sumaiya Akther was the top scorer for her team, remaining unbeaten on 21.India chased down the target with ease, reaching 66/2 in just 7.1 overs. Opener Gongadi Trisha led the charge with an unbeaten 40 off 31 balls, smashing eight fours.Earlier in the day, rain delayed the start of the match. However, there was no loss of overs.Indian bowlers immediately put Bangladesh under pressure by taking a wicket on the third ball of the match. The defending champions maintained their dominance by claiming regular wickets, leaving Bangladesh at 23-5 by the halfway stage.Skipper Sumaiya Akter and Jannatul Maoua displayed resilience for Bangladesh, putting together a 31-run partnership for the sixth wicket before Vaishnavi Sharma derailed their fightback with two wickets in the 17th over. Bangladesh crawled their way to reach 64-8 in 20 overs.Vaishnavi Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for India, with impressive figures of 3/15. Shabnam, VJ Joshitha and Trisha Gongadi also contributed with the ball.Despite a small target to chase, India started confidently with Trisha Gongadi scoring freely.
