Sam Konstas has made another statement on his heated argument with Jasprit Bumrah on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, saying that he wouldn’t have said anything if a similar incident had happened again during the contest.Australia won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1, winning the Sydney Test by six wickets after completing the chase of 162 runs. With this win, Australia qualified for the final of the World Test Championship. Australia will face South Africa in the mega match. Konstas was shouldered by Virat Kohli in the Melbourne Test and it rattled both India and Australia.After taking Usman Khawaja’s wicket, Bumrah went towards the 19-year-old and said something. Speaking to CODE Sports, Konstas revealed that he told Team India’s captain that Khawaja was not ready to face him.”I love being in the match and trying to give my best,” Konstas said.“I was trying to waste time so they didn’t get a chance to bowl another over. Bumrah had the last laugh. He took 32 wickets in the series. If that happened again, I wouldn’t have said anything,” he added. The right-handed batter amassed 113 runs at an average of 28.25 and a strike rate of over 81, with scores of 60, 8, 23 and 22 in Melbourne and Sydney.On the other hand, Bumrah claimed three five-wicket hauls and was named the ‘Player of the Series’.
