The ICC has handed another big headache to the PCB.

The next big ICC event that teams will be looking forward to is the Champions Trophy 2025 . The tournament is set to make its return after 8 years and it will be held in Pakistan t. The country will be hosting an ICC tournament for the first time since the ODI World Cup 1996. However, there have been concerns regarding whether the tournament will be held there at all, especially with reports that India are not willing to travel due to the strained political relations between the two nations. Amidst all this, the ICC have now expressed a big concern to Pakistan.

An ICC delegation visited Pakistan to inspect the venues and the security situation ahead of the Champions Trophy in February. According to a report by Sports Tak, the ICC have expressed concerns regarding the venues, which are currently being reconstructed. They are concerned as to whether the renovations will be finished in time for the tournament.

PCB Give Deadline For Reconstruction Completion

The Sports Tak report also states that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given a deadline of Jaunary 31, 2024 for the reconstruction of the venues. A source close to the PCB said that while ICC have expressed a slight concern regarding the venues, it should not be of any major headache for them.

The tournament begins tentatively on February 19, and if Pakistan aim to finish the stadium reconstructions within the specified deadline, then they have to step up their work, according to the report.

What Are The Venues For Champions Trophy 2025?

The PCB had reportedly proposed Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi as the three venues for the Champipns Trophy 2025 according to the draft schedule prepared by them . The final is set to take place in Lahore, while India are set to play all their matches in Lahore, including the blockbuster clash against hosts Pakistan.
