It’s been just a couple of days when the India men’s team suffered a close defeat at the hands of England at the Lord’s but the players have started moving on to the next challenge as they hope to pull themselves back on level terms with their hosts. The team underwent a training session in Beckenham, away from the fanfare at the Kent County Cricket Ground.

According to PTI, from the Indian team’s dressing room upstairs, Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant and pacer spearhead Jasprit Bumrah engaged in a friendly banter with the mediapersons who were tacking the practice session.

A reporter tried having a conversation with Pant but the wicketkeeper-batter expressed his helplessness replying, “kuch sunai nahi de raha hai (Can’t hear anything)‘ thank to the music being played in the background.

Bumrah chimed in, taking a hilarious dig at his teammate.

“Aaj Duggal Ji behere hain (Today he’s playing deaf)," Bumrah quipped, referring to a popular dialogue from a Hindi movie and drawing laughter.

Bumrah, Pant Sweat It Out In The Gym

The duo was part of the warm-up routine and didn’t take part in the nets session as both spent some time in the gym. Pant has been nursing a finger injury which he picked while collecting a delivery from Bumrah during the third Test following which he didn’t take the gloves and was replaced by Dhruv Jurel. Pant though batted in both the innings.

Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj didn’t bowl as part of workload management.

Meanwhile, India have been hit by another injury concern in left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh who hurt his left-hand while attempting to stop a ball coming his way during the training session.

India fielding coach Ryan ten Doeschate confirmed that Arshdeep was taken to a doctor to assess the extent of the injury.

“…we have to see how bad the cut is. Obviously the medical team has taken him off to see a doctor and obviously if he needs stitches or doesn’t need stitches that’s going to be important to our planning for the next few days," he said.
