As per the video, Imran has been enjoying a good run in the tournament having picked 21 wickets from 14 matches at an average of 10.71 and an economy of 8.65. However, his team IAS Invincibles is on the second last spot on the points table with just five wins from 15 matches having 11 points to their name.

Imran has his roots in Pakistan and is making a living in Oman working as a CCTV camera installer and a part time cricketer. His action and appearance took people down memory lane remembering Akhtar.

Akhtar's international career

Notably, Akhtar is touted as the fastest bowler in the history of international cricket as he became the first man to breach the 100mph barrier during the 2003 World Cup match against England. Akhar had several memorable battles with legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar who famously took him apart during the ODI World Cup 2003.

Akhtar is the seventh-highest wicket-taker in international cricket for Pakistan having scalped 178 wickets in Tests and 247 in ODIs. His career was marred by injuries and several controversies but the Rawalpindi Express managed to leave an indelible mark in the history books with his fiery spells.

Akhtar’s last appearance in international cricket came against New Zealand during the ODI World Cup 2011 when he was smacked for 70 runs in 9 overs. He announced his retirement midway through the tournament and never featured again for his country as Pakistan crashed out of the tournament following a 29-run loss against India in the semi final.
