August 5 was an incredible day for the Indian contingent in more ways than one, and things pick up a gear on Wednesday as the likes of Mirabai Chanu, Vinesh Phogat, Antim Panghal, Manika Batra and Avinash Sable take centerstage.

It is a jam-packed day of track & field action for the Indian athletes.

Here’s a look at the schedule:

Men’s 3000m Steeplechase, Women’s 100mH R1: 11 am onwards

Avinash Sable reached his first Olympic final with a solid run, but will have to be at his absolute best to be in the mix in a high-quality final field. Jyothi’s hurdles Round 1 race will also be one to watch out for among many Indian events

It’s been a tough few years for Mirabai since her famous silver in Tokyo. But if she is close to her full fitness, the Indian star could still put herself in contention for a podium.

WRESTLING

Women’s Freestyle 50kg

Vinesh Phogat

After a sensational start to her campaign with a win over Yui Susaki, Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman to reach a Wrestling final as she guaranteed India another medal – gold or silver. After the heartbreaks of Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, a massive day for the Indian star.
