Impressive stat shows how dominant Seahawks P Michael Dickson truly is

The Seattle Seahawks have perhaps one of the most underrated, highest-impact players in the entire NFL. No, I'm not talking about Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Devon Witherspoon or Leonard Williams. Which, okay, when you put it like that it really showcases just how absurdly stacked this roster is! I didn't even say Cooper Kupp or Julian Love!

No, who I am talking about is their punter from down under: Michael Dickson.

Michael Dickson is truly a game-changing talent, and I understand why he doesn't get the spotlight. He's a punter, and no one thinks about them. In fact, whenever he comes on the field it's often met with groans from the 12th Man because it means the offense stalled. But what Dickson represents is being a borderline secret weapon for the Seahawks, as he is able to completely flip the field and give the Dark Side defense absurdly great field position to work with.

So far this year Dickson has punted nine times, and his punts have allowed zero return yards. Zero. Zilch. Nada. That is also the same number of touchbacks Dickson has allowed, which is extra impressive since five of those nine punts have landed within the 20-yard line. These stats were shared by Polymarket's football social media accounts.

Perhaps the best example of how Dickson's punting continuously giving the Seahawks better and better field position is it eventually pays off for the offense. Seattle began their Week 1 game with five-straight punting drives, and eventually they began a drive at New England's 43-yard line because their defense was able to force a quick three-and-out due to the fact they were backed up at their own six. That drive eventually led to a field goal to make it a 10-3 game, and those points obviously came in handy in the 13-10 win.
