HERSHEY, Pa. -- Kutztown University women's tennis returned to action for the first time since October on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears ran up against a tough Frostburg State side, falling 7-0 in a match played indoors at the Hershey Racquet Club.The Bobcats (4-4), out of the Mountain East Conference, ceded just two games across three doubles matches to pick up the sweep. FSU won 6-1 at No. 3, 6-0 at No. 2 and its nationally ranked No. 31 pair of Julia Ramos Bentham and Alyssa Kush capped doubles with a 6-1 win at No. 1.Singles also favored Frostburg State, with the Bobcats taking all six flights in straight sets.Isabela de Nadai (Vitoria, Brazil/St. Paul's School) captured four games off Ramos Bentham in their match at No. 1. Ramos Bentham, who is ranked 14th in the ITA Atlantic Region rankings, won by matching 6-2, 6-2 scores.Ryleigh Bohning (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) was the only other KU (2-3) player to earn a game victory in her 6-1, 6-0 defeat to Kush at No. 4.Kutztown travels to Reading to face Alvernia next Friday, March 13, at 4 p.m.Related Headlines10.15.2510.03.2510.02.25
