The Indian Premier League 2025 final and Qualifier 2 will be held in Ahmedabad while the first two playoff games will take place in New Chandigarh, the BCCI announced on Tuesday.

Hyderabad and Kolkata were initially slated to host the IPL 2025 playoffs but will no longer be the hosts for the final four matches of the season after the schedule had to be revised following the one-week suspension of the tournament.

Furthermore, with an eye on the monsoon season, the BCCI also decided to shift the May 23 fixture between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad from Bengaluru to Lucknow.

The last match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out without a ball being bowled due to rain.

“The new venues for the playoffs were decided by the IPL Governing Council, keeping in mind the weather conditions and other parameters,” a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement read.

Similar to the playoffs stage, an additional hour will be allocated to the playing conditions for the remaining matches of the league stage, starting Tuesday, 20 May,” the statement added.
