Alexander Rozin Tabbed Big 12 Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona men's tennis player Alexander Rozin has collected the first Big 12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week award after a tremendous showing over the weekend in Boca Raton.

Rozin had a near-perfect opening weekend at the Florida Hidden Duals, going 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles.

Rozin commenced the weekend in stellar fashion on Friday, defeating #7 Max Dahlin (Michigan) in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.

Rozin continued his exceptional play on Saturday, defeating Manuel Plunger (Clemson) 6-4, 6-2, before securing a doubles win, as Rozin and Zoran Ludoski defeated Victor Markov/Manuel Plunger (Clemson) 6-4.

Rozin closed out the weekend with two more victories, first earning a singles win over #115 Henry Jefferson (Florida) where he won the first set 6-2 and held a 4-2 advantage in the second set when Jefferson was forced to retire. Rozin and Ludoski then earned a clutch 7-5 victory in doubles over Pablo Perez Ramos/Lorenzo Claverie (Florida).

The award marks the first Conference Player of the Week honors of Rozin's career.
